Compliance and safety

A freight company is trusted with other people's goods and other people's trucks. This page says how we hold that trust. It is referenced by the terms of service and the privacy policy, and the carrier packet and certificates of insurance are issued the same day they are asked for.
Operating authority
JLR Logistics LLC holds motor carrier and property broker authority registered with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, with the BOC-3 process agent filing and the UCR registration current. Our USDOT and MC numbers are printed on every rate confirmation, bill of lading and invoice, and the carrier packet with the authority letter and W-9 goes out the same day it is requested. The rate confirmation states whether a load moves under our carrier authority on a JLR truck or under our broker authority on a partner carrier.
Insurance
Automobile liability $1,000,000 combined single limit; general liability $1,000,000 per occurrence; motor truck cargo $100,000 per shipment on our own trucks; contingent cargo and contingent auto liability on brokered loads; the $75,000 property broker surety bond (BMC-84); and workers' compensation for employees. Certificates naming your company as certificate holder are issued the same day. Higher cargo limits for high-value loads are arranged per shipment at cost.
Carrier vetting
Before a partner carrier moves a JLR load: active authority for at least six months, insurance verified with the carrier's agent at $1,000,000 auto liability and $100,000 cargo, a safety rating of satisfactory or none with no conditional rating, CSA BASIC scores reviewed, an ELD in service and tracking enabled, the W-9 and the signed carrier agreement, which prohibits re-brokering and double brokering. Authority and insurance are monitored continuously and every carrier is re-vetted on its anniversary.
Drivers and equipment
Drivers on the dedicated fleet are in a DOT drug and alcohol testing consortium and the FMCSA Clearinghouse, hold the endorsements the freight requires (hazmat, tanker, TWIC where the port or plant requires it) and run ELDs with hours-of-service compliance reviewed weekly. Equipment is on a preventive maintenance schedule with annual DOT inspections and pre- and post-trip inspections logged.
Cargo claims
File through the portal or by email with the delivery receipt, photos and the invoice value. Claims are acknowledged within one business day, investigated with the carrier and the consignee, and resolved or declined in writing within 60 days, with status every 30 days until closed, as 49 CFR Part 370 requires. Liability on our trucks is under the Carmack Amendment (49 U.S.C. 14706) at the released value on the bill of lading unless a higher value is declared and the cargo limit arranged; on brokered loads we pursue the carrier's cargo policy and our contingent cargo policy on your behalf.
Your data
Shipment data, contacts, addresses, commodity and value are used to move and invoice the freight and are shared with the carrier assigned to the load and the vendors below, each under contract. We do not sell shipper or carrier data, do not share rates between shippers, and export your data to you on request. Portal access is per user with multi-factor authentication; tracking links are read-only and expire 30 days after delivery.
Security and incidents
Access to the portal and the dispatch system is per person and logged, with multi-factor authentication for every employee and partner-facility user. If an incident on our side affects a shipper's or carrier's data, the named contact is told within 72 hours of confirmation with what happened and what we are doing, and Texas breach-notification law governs the rest. Cargo theft or a security incident on a load in transit is reported to the shipper immediately and to law enforcement and the insurer the same day.
Vulnerability disclosure
Report a vulnerability in anything we operate to security@realhauler.com. We acknowledge within two business days and do not pursue good-faith researchers.
Vendors that touch shipment data
Systems we use to dispatch, track and invoice, each under a contract covering confidentiality and security. Shipper and carrier contacts are told by email 30 days before one is added.
